This new feature, "Officers Online / Status" page that is now available, took the place of the "Units Online" function. This page was designed for ease of use with a dispatcher in mind, so when a unit would be 10-8 or in service, they could use their "F" keys on the computer in the patrol car to designate their current status to a dispatcher or an owner who is watching over his units from home or away from the office. The "F" key statuses are defined below:
F1= AVAILABLE
F2= OUT OF SERVICE
F3= ON A CALL
F4= SUSPICIOUS PERSON / VEHICLE
F5= CLEAR FROM CALL
F11= EMERGENCY - BACKUP NEEDED
F11 is commonly used by police computer manufacturers as their EMERGENCY BUTTON such as the Panasonic PDRC which has an emergency button next to the screen.
The Destiny System will also use the F11 key for emergencies and display the
"EMERGENCY - BACKUP NEEDED" status to the Dispatcher.

note: When on the Dispatch Terminal's "Officers Online / Status" page, and a unit
presses their "F11" key, a beep tone will sound every 20 seconds until that unit
presses a different "F" key for their status to the Dispatcher. This function will
ensure that the Dispatcher is made aware of this very important status of that unit.

USERS ONLINE / STATUS PAGE (DISPATCH FUNCTION)

The "Calls for Service" page (shown above)
has the following functions:
  • View last 10 calls for service, calls older than last 10 viewable by scrolling down.
  • Dispatcher can click on a call to view pop up screen showing all call information.
  • Dispatcher will be able to add or edit information from the pop up call screen.
  • All users added to system are visible on the bottom right of the screen.
  • When users log on, user will be moved to left of screen under "Units 10-8 - Online".
  • When user logs on, status is shown as "available" until different status is selected.
  • Dispatcher can only select "available units" to send calls to.
  • If dispatcher does not have an "available unit" to send a call to, that call will be added to the cue and will be highlighted in yellow until assigned.
  • Statuses are defined by color and display the time that status was last updated.
  • Field units select their status from the "F" keys, as described above

  • The way to "Add an Incident" or as we put it, add a "Call for Service" is by clicking on the
    "Add Calls For Service" button from the Dispatch index screen, then you will be taken to the "call for service" screen shown below:

    Also when the dispatcher submits a call to a unit, the program would automatically send the address of the call to the units that are in the "Primary Unit" and the "Unit To Assist" fields of the "Call For Service" dispatcher screen.

    Once a call is sent to a unit and unit to assist if any, a popup screen would appear and display the page below which would show the information that the Dispatcher typed out as a call from the "Call For Service" page. There would also be an audible alarm that lasts about 1 second to notify the field unit that there is a call or a change to the call he originally received

    If a call is updated by the dispatcher, the call is resent to the unit and unit to assist if any along with any changes to the location of the call for the GPS function and the audible alarm sounds once again.
